Democratic Senate candidate Al Franken says "Republican Norm Coleman will have to defend five years worth of support for President Bush and the Republican agenda in Washington."

Franken said his candidacy will help set "a new direction in this country."

Minnesota Republican Party Chairman Ron Carey stood in the Rotunda listening to the speech, and made it clear the GOP will paint Franken as a hard core liberal and will protray Coleman, by contrast, as the moderate choice.

"You have Al Franken, probably the most radical leftwing agenda that I've ever seen a Minnesota politician bring forward," Carey said, "It is really all about more and more government which costs people money."

"It's hard to conceive he's going to represent the working men and women of this state when he won't pay the basic insurance those employees relied upon," Carey asserted.

The Minnesota GOP posted a 42-page pdf (http://www.mngop.com/pdfs/FrankenFOIA.pdf) relating to the case on its website Tuesday, and directed the media's attention to it. The paperwork, obtained from the State of New York with a Freedom of Information Act request, included copies of two checks written March 6th by Franken's wife Franni.

One check, for $25,000, settled a judgment by the New York's Workers Compensation Board against Al Franken, Inc. for the lapse in workers comp payments between 2002 and 2005. The other check, for $832, paid off a penalty for a two-year lapse in disability insurance payments.

Franken's campaign has consistently maintained that the candidate, who paid worker's comp for his employees for more than a decade, had no idea those payments ever fell behind or that the State of New York had issued penalties to his company.

He told reporters Tuesday that his accountants are still investigating how the lapse occurred, but he believes he has now paid everything he owes in the case. And this is the NEW DIRECTION the country is looking for?  No Accountability, no idea what's going on, NO IDEA!!!!!!  Typical Liberal.  Reminds me of the Joke:

A first grade teacher explains to her class that she is a liberal Democrat. She asks her students to raise their hands if they were liberal Democrats too. Not really knowing what a liberal Democrat was, but wanting to be like their teacher, their hands flew up into the air. There was, however, one exception. A girl named Lucy had not gone along with the crowd. The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different. Because I'm not a liberal Democrat, she answers. Then, asks the teacher, What are you? Why I'm a proud conservative Republican, boasts the little girl. The teacher, a little perturbed and her face slightly red, asked Lucy why she is a conservative Republican. Well, I was brought up to trust in myself instead of relying on an intrusive government to care for me and do all of my thinking. My Dad and Mom are conservative Republicans, and I am a conservative Republican too. The teacher, now angry, loudly says, That's no reason! What if your Mom was a moron, and your dad was a moron. What would you be then? She pauses, and lets out a smile. Then, Lucy says, I'd be a liberal Democrat.

OR Even Better:

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am." The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air balloon approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude." She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican." "I am," replied the man. "How did you know?" "Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me." The man smiled and responded, "You must be a Democrat." "I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?" "Well," said the man, "you have no idea where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect ME to solve your problem. You're in EXACTLY the same position you were in before we met, but somehow, now it's MY fault.

So tell me Mr. Franken,  What exactly are you running on?  If you are running against  Colemans record... Colemans response:  " "I am running on my record, because unlike my opponent, I actually have one," he said. "Franken has never run for public office before."  In fact.. (my conjecture) Franken has never been apart of anything successful.  How he got rich is anyones guess.

We are not electing a class president or class clown we are electing somebody to represent us in Washington D.C. and this should be taken seriously.  How will he Represent Minnesota?  He won't!!!  If you look who is supporting him for Senate.  It is big donors just like anybody else, but what is clear when you look at his contributions that these donors are not from Minnesota but from out of state and liberal entertainers.  Just what we need somebody beholden to Hollywood and the screwed up ideals and beliefs they have and other liberals.
