Global warming is a prime example of the extremism and alarmism that characterizes much of the environmental movement being perpetuated by the leftists in this country and around the world.. Media coverage of the topic is heavily slanted toward alarmism because “bad news sells,” making it difficult for climate realists to get a fair hearing. Al Gore’s recent movie, “An Inconvenient Truth,” has been severely critiqued by many experts, yet it is being shown in high schools across the country as an educational documentary. Just like evolution and Darwinism, it is presented as fact to our young people, even though the theories are full of falsehoods and are not supported by facts or science.
As the scientific community becomes increasingly skeptical of claims by Al Gore and other environmentalist extremists that global warming is manmade and portends a crisis of a disastrous magnitude, government calls for carbon dioxide (CO2) cap-and-trade systems are premature at best and economically disastrous at worst.
Far from being a dangerous pollutant, carbon is a basic component of all living cells, and life on Earth actually depends on carbon dioxide. In fact, increased CO2 concentrations make plants grow faster and bigger and provide improved food chain conditions for humans and animals.
