Late night talk show hosts and other comedians are having a heck of a time coming up with something funny to bust Barack Obama on.
Basically, they just haven't been able to find a "hook" on him yet. Either that, or Obama just isn't funny material.
Quote: "We're doing jokes about people in his orbit, not really about him." said Mike Sweeney, head writer for O'Brien on Late Night. The jokes will come, late-night show representatives said, as soon as Obama does or says something that defines him — in comedy terms.
But so far, no true punch lines have landed.
Why? There is no comedic "take" on him, nothing easy to turn to for an easy laugh, like allegations of Bill Clinton's womanizing or President Bush's goofy bumbling.
